Sales Engineer

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales and Marketing
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As an integral part of the WILTEC account team, the Sales Engineer will provide pre-and-post sales technical support to develop and recommend business strategies to fulfill the client’s requirements. The SE serves as the “technical conscience” for the customer and technical advocate to develop new and complex solutions.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide expertise and support clients in routing, switching, networking and server platforms including. Microsoft and Linux.
- Provide configuration and support for unified communications, security, and wireless applications.
- Develop Visio and PowerPoint documents to communicate solutions to customers.
- Responsible for implementing software and hardware solutions for clients.
- Responsible for individual certifications related to products and services offered through the direction of the Business Development Manager. Remain knowledgeable on competitive products and technologies to assist in keeping current.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of client’s technology and business goals, problems, applications and needs and assist in the preparation of proposed solutions and implementations.
SKILLS:
- Exceedingly experienced in supporting clients with server platforms for Linux (SAMBA, Email, DNS, File and Print) and Microsoft (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, File and Print) platforms.
- Expertise in LAN/WAN protocols managed services and network security.
- Knowledgeable and experienced with Cisco products including routing, switching and unified communications configurations.
- Must have current Cisco certifications Cisco CCNA / CCNP or equivalent.
- Cisco current Unified Communications certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of network architectures and technologies.
- Knowledgeable in Firewall, Intrusion Prevention and Detection, VPN and SSL.
- Proficient written and oral skills.
- Proven participation of successful sales of CPE Converged Equipment to small, medium and large organizations.
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of Sales Engineering design and estimating.
